Chinook fishing just keeps chooglin’ along! Keepers were a little more difficult to find along the Grande to Whalebone stretch this week, but limits of fish were still the general rule. There are so many undersized fish in the area that it certainly keeps everyone busy. One trip this week we were visited by the Orcas, and this can result in a complete collapse of the fish biting, as they are spooked. It was odd that they continued biting for about 20 minutes after the Orcas passed, then went into hiding. The fish are holding either in tight to the Grande in 85 feet of water, or out in the 130 to 160 foot depths. Lures of choice have been the Lemon Soda spoon (which Silver Horde has discontinued……), Cookies and Cream, or the T-Rex hoochie. Entrance has occasionally been on fire for the jiggers, while The Fingers has slowed. I want to troll the 3 inch plugs in the shallows at Entrance this week, as I feel that has huge potential.
Prawning is still good, but not fantastic like it was in past weeks. Expect 50 to 70 per trap.
  Good fishing!
