Sunday, the 13th, proved to be another sunny, glorious, calm day at sea. We fished Thrasher, which I hadn’t done for a while. The Chinook fishing was very good, mostly 5 to 10 minutes between bites, with three doubleheaders. We released about 15 Chinook in the 4 to 5 pound range. We managed to lose the two larger fish we hooked, but that is part of the game. The fish were in 160 to 250 feet of water, with the riggers at 180 to 220 feet. We were using Killy MaGee, Mongoose, and Cookies and Cream spoons. We encountered three enormous bait balls on the fish finder, which is why the fish are holding there.
The Cabezon and I didn’t prawn, as the tide change was only an hour away when we left the dock, and we wanted to catch the bite. So, I again have no news on that front.
Good fishing!
