The wind blew, and blew, and blew! There wasn’t much opportunity to fish, but the Cabezon did sneak out Saturday evening, and found good results in 550 to 650 feet of water straight out from Silva Bay. Downrigger depths range 120 to 180 feet this time of year, with the Mongoose or Killy MaGee spoons still working their magic. The water does have that “mud puddle” look to it, which may be a combination of Fraser runoff and possibly the beginnings of the next plankton bloom.
The prawning remains excellent, with no berried females in the mix. Try 350 feet of depth off The Flat Tops with good old tuna cat food as bait.
Good fishing!
